Membrane Contactors can be used in any industry where gasses negatively impact a process.
Corrosion is always a problem where piping and system components are made of metal in the process industries. It is common around the world to remove both dissolved O2 and CO2 that can oxidize metal with Liqui-Cel® Membrane Contactors. It can oxidize more than just metal, however, as the oxidizing effects of O2 can negatively impact shelf life and taste of foods and beverages, making deoxygenation an essential facet of the food and beverage industry.
Liqui-Cel Contactors are also used to remove gasses from ice. Removing the dissolved gas produces cleaner, clearer ice because the gasses that produce a hazy effect are removed resulting in the clear appearance that people like to see in ice. Degassing can be used to improve the ice we consume and it is also used to improve the appearance of ice in ice skating rinks.
There are so many other applications where Liqui-Cel Contactors have been put into operation. Most all liquids that need gasses removed from them or gasses added to them can benefit from the installation of Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactors. Membrane contactors have been used for over 20 years to control gasses in a variety of processes.
